New Plymouth District Council is proposing an amendment to its Development and Financial Contributions Policy and we want to hear your views
The policy sets out how developers will contribute towards funding new or upgraded assets (network infrastructure, community infrastructure and reserves), required to meet the demands of growth.
The proposed amendment is to remove the requirement to pay development contributions for bedroom additions to existing dwellings. The amendment specifies that an existing dwelling is a residential unit that has received a code compliance certificate, or a certificate of acceptance under the Building Act 2004.
This means if anyone wants to build another bedroom on their existing house then they will not have to pay a development contribution.
