The Public Engagement Committee provides you the opportunity to speak directly with councillors about the issues that matter most to you. This new forum was created to encourage open, meaningful conversations and constructive engagement between the community and elected members.

Unlike traditional council meetings, this committee allows for flexible speaking times.

While the committee can’t make decisions or direct council actions, it does provide valuable feedback to the organisation on the topics raised.

✅ Got concerns?
✅ Want to share what’s working well?

The committee meets every two months, so don’t miss your chance to get involved. The deadline for requests for our 4 February meeting is 25 January 2024.

How it will work

When sending us your request to speak, please include:

  • Your name, and the names of all speakers if more than one will be presenting.
  • The topic you want to talk on.
  • How long you need.

If you have a presentation, these will need to be provided two working days before the meeting.

Our Governance team will come back to you to confirm details, timings and if any further information is required.

If we don't get any requests, the Chairperson or Deputy Chairperson may make the call to cancel the meeting.
